Barbara Ann Marshbanks Buckner, 84, of Weaverville, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021. She was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and the daughter of the late Stanley Frank and Willie Mae Sheppard Marshbanks. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee Buckner; her sister, Mary Frances Marshbanks and daughter-in-law, Teresa Buckner. She retired from Micro Switch after over 25 years of employment and loved serving as custodian for many years at Forks of Ivy Baptist Church of which she was a member. Barbara also attended church for several years with her husband at Grace Fellowship Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Dani Tipton (Lynn); sons, Danny Buckner, and Mark Buckner; grandchildren, Jason Edmonds (Nina), Deidra Edmonds, Christy Buckner (Norman Ferguson); Meghan Justice (Matt); Shelley Kerr (Gary), and Rachael Howell (James); and nine great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Forks of Ivy Baptist Church. Reverend Greg Hollifield will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
