B. E. Burnette 91, of 2400 Smith Creek Rd., passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at John F. Keever Solace Center. He was a son of the late Bertam E. and Vertie Thomas Burnette. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Zetta English Burnette, son, Ronney Smith, Sister, Faye Gowan, brother, Glenn Burnette, two half-brothers; Gersheon and Grady Howell. B. E. was an avid fox hunter and had many friends from his fox hunting and enjoyed his farm animals. Surviving are his daughters, Angela Fox (Frank) , Jackie Burnette Henderson , Sharon Lesley (Tom) all of Mars Hill, sons, Danny Burnette of the home and Rodney Burnette (Barbara) of Asheville, sister; Bobbie Snelson of Richmond, VA, brother; Wayne Burnette of Mars Hill, grandchildren, Sabrina, Shawn, Kevin, Devin and April, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The funeral service will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 7:00pm at Bright Hope Laurel United Methodist Church. Rev. Patricia Lewis will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm prior to the service. Burial will be at 11:00 am Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Upper English cemetery.
