Obituary

Betty Lou Bradley Clark, 84, of Marshall, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025. She was born on March 8, 1940 to the late Bill and Blanche Sams Bradley, in the Grapevine community of Madison County. She was a lifelong active member of Grapevine Baptist Church.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and "Nanny", who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family. She married her loving husband Garrell Clark on December 19, 1957. Together they had 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She loved serving at Grapevine Baptist Church, helping lead Sunday School classes, directing Easter and Christmas plays, and serving as Treasurer. Before retirement, she worked as an Office Manager at Blue Ridge Mental Health for 25 years. She loved painting, gardening, bird watching, and researching her family tree. Many of her paintings are displayed at the Center Community Center. She always had a camera on hand, capturing many family moments over the years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Garrell Clark; brothers Hershel (Hazel) Bradley and Ralph (Ellen) Bradley; and sisters Eileen (Bud) Isreal and Shirley Caldwell.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Clark (Teddy Payne) and Tamela Clark; son, David Clark (Pam); grandchildren, Will Zimmerman (Heather), Ashley Jankowski (Michael), Logan Clark (Racheal), and Jacob Clark (Reaghan); and 3 great-grandchildren, Zachary and Kinsley Zimmerman, and Janie Jankowski. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Lewis Velt (Sadie) Clark, and Butch Caldwell.

The family will receive friends at Grapevine Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 11am, with funeral service to follow at noon. Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery, Clark Lane, Marshall. At other times, the family will be at Betty's home at 259 Clark Lane, Marshall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Madison Home Care and Hospice, 590 Medical Park Dr, Marshall, NC 28753.

The family would like to thank Madison Home Care and Hospice for the compassion and care they provided. Also, a special thank you to Pat Grooms for the loving care and company she gave.
