Mrs. Betty Lou Wilson Lunsford, 84, of Weaverville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, April 16, 2023. Betty was the daughter of the late Clarence and Vada Miller Wilson born in Yancey County. She was preceded in death by her loving husband: Howard Lunsford, and brother: Bruce Wilson, and an infant brother and sister. Betty was a native of Yancey County, having lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was a member of Coles Cove Baptist Church and spent many years singing for the Lord with her husband Howard. She loved the Lord and her family with all her heart.

Betty is survived by her children: Melissa Crane and husband Kenny, and son: Chuck Lunsford; two grandchildren: Justin Crane and his loving fiancé Kaitlyn McKinney and Amanda Lunsford; three great-grandchildren: Jada, D.J., and Deven, one great-great grandchild: Krue, a brother: Dean Wilson and his wife Betty, and sister-in-law: Virginia Wilson.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 2:00pm at Coles Cove Baptist Church with the Rev. Junior Hollifield, Justin Crane, and Rev. Dale Banks officiating. The Lunsford family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm before the service at the church. Burial will follow the funeral in the Allen Family Cemetery in Barnardsville, NC.
