MARSHALL: Blanche R. Edwards 91, of Hwy 213, Marshall died Friday, October 8, 2010 at The Brian Center, Weaverville after a short illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County and a daughter of the late Doyle and Sonnie Crowe Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband Zeb Edwards who died in 1998, son-in-law, Harry Gregg and foster brother, Jack Griffin. Blanche was a homemaker and loved working in her flowers and watching the Atlanta Braves.

Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Gregg of Asheville, son, Bob Edwards and wife Judy of Etowah, sister, Geneva R. Cheek of Weaverville, grandchildren; Tammy Gregg, Amy Gregg Myers and husband Bill, great grandson, Will Myers and her dog Kita.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 11, 2010 at Trinity Baptist Church where she was the oldest member. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Revs Kevin McMillan and Jack Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Old Bull Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Billy Myers, Gregg Cheek, Dwight Fender, Fred Treadway, Richard and Leonard Edwards, honorary pallbearers will be: Harold Rogers and Paul Gosnell. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 PM Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Blue Ridge Funeral Service, Mars Hill.
