Blanche Lona Deweese Shelton, 87, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015. She was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Cox Deweese. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Shelton; daughter, Wanda Shelton Poteat; sons, Charles, Roger Dale and Paul Shelton; sister, Jo Cornette and brother, Jimmy Deweese.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Carver (Robert) and Wilma Hensley (Richard) and son, Randy Shelton (Leona); sisters, Glenda Carver and Jerelene Metcalf, brothers, Bobby, Floyd and Donald Deweese, 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 17th, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Rev. Jerry Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Holcombe Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at 113 Ox Creek Rd in Weaverville.
