Obituary

Bobby Carver, 84, of Mars Hill, passed away peacefully at home November 18, 2025. He was born on January 31, 1941, to the late Albert and Minnie Cody Carver.

Bobby retired from Thermo Fisher in Weaverville, NC. He was an avid gardener and loved his Dahlias. He enjoyed being on Big Pine at his cabin and being with his family whom he loved dearly.

He was a devoted and faithful Christian who loved his Lord and believed in loving everyone the same as Jesus loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife, Shelby Jean Carver; sisters, Jean Sexton, Kate Carver and Glenna Bates; brothers, Howard Carver and Pat Carver; son-in-law, Gary Luyckx; and several nieces.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Darlene Luyckx; brothers, Vernon Carver (Loretta), John Carver (Ella Mae); sister, Rosa Lee Edwards; sister-in-law, Phyllis Carver; nephew, Johnathan Carver; niece, Barbara Lusk; and his late spouse's family.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 20, 2025, in Little Ivy Baptist Church. Reverend Scott Dotson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Johnathan Carver, Ricky Roberts, Jesse Mace, Michael Honeycutt, Tony Worley, Greg Triper, Clifton Woody, and Walter Fortner will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
