Bobby D. Elkins, 80, of Mars Hill passed away, May 2, 2025. He was a native of Buncombe County and the son of the late, Clarence and Vonnie Lee Sprouse Elkins. Bobby was a member of the Bald Creek Masonic Lodge and a US Army Veteran. He retired from Mills Manufacturing after 34 years and Honeywell Manufacturing after 10 years. Bobby was attending Spirit Life Church.

Bobby was a people person and never met a stranger. Bobby loved being in crowds. Although he didn't have any children of his own, he loved all the little children.

He is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Louise Metcalf Elkins; sister, Adaleen Elkins Brown of Weaverville; brothers, Fred Elkins, of Hendersonville, Everette and Arlan Elkins both of Weaverville, and Lonnie Elkins of Marshall; 5 nieces, 4 nephews and 1 goddaughter, Nicole Elkins.

A funeral service will be held 2:30pm Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with the Reverends C.W. Anthony and Roy McPeters officiating. The burial will follow in the Sprouse Cemetery in Weaverville. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Blue Ridge Funeral Service.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the VA hospice for their love and care.
