Brenda Elaine Gross, age 75 of 100 Old NC 20 passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at her residence. She is the daughter of the late Robert James and Margaret Evelyn Sweeney Smith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Earl and Margaret Smith.

She is survived by her son, David DeWayne Gross and wife Donna of Leicester; 4 grandchildren, Jesse Gross and wife Natalie, of Canton, Jamie Gross of Leicester, Jacob Gross of Asheville and Joey Gross and fiancé of Taryn Rickey of Asheville: two great-grandchildren, Jayden Gross of Leicester and Liam Gross of Canton and a special gratitude to a dear friend, Evelyn Meadows of Asheville.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made in her name to the Asheville Human Society, 14 Forever Friend Ln, Asheville, NC 28806.
