Brenda Arwood Wheeler,74, of Leicester, passed away May 19, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Junior Lee and Mary Frances Wingfield Arwood. In addition to her parents Brenda is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Ray Wheeler.

Mrs. Wheeler was employed at Buncombe County DSS for 30 years and Eblen Foundation for 10 years, where she loved making sure those who needed any assistance with food, heating or any other necessities were taken care of.

Brenda was survived by her daughter, Malisa White (Floyd Stephenson); son, Chris Wheeler (Kelley);Sisters, Linda Robinson (Bobby), Barbara Walls (Jim), Diane Honeycutt (Donald), Teresa Rigsby (Bob Miles) and Kaye Roberts; brothers, Larry Noah (Marie), Orville Arwood (Angi); grandchildren, Ashton White, Alli White (Ronnie), Sara Wheeler (Brian) and Adam Wheeler; great grandchildren, Dillion, Alexis and A.J.; numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in the Robbie Capps memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service. Reverend Danny Jenkins will officiate. The burial will follow in the Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
