Calvin Henry Davis, 83 of Thomas Branch Road, went safely home Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at his residence. He was a resident of Madison County and the son of the late Henry and Lucille Lewis Davis. He is also preceded in death by a son, Larry Davis and brothers- in-law, Paul Gosnell and Troy Pegg. He was a United States Army Veteran. Calvin was also an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, model air planes and going to the lake with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Robbie Jean Rice Davis; daughter, Velma Davis Rice (Dayton); son, Lonny Davis (Sharon); sisters, Elva Gosnell, Christine Rivers (Charles), Betty Silvers (Leonard), Katherine Pegg, Clara Boone (Larry); brothers, Lewis Davis (Elsie), Gary Davis(Margaret); grandchildren, Dillon Rice, Jason and Isaac Davis, Shawn, Jody and Amy Davis; great grandchildren, Dalton, Haley, Madison, Maddox and Emma.

A celebration of his life will be held 1:00 PM Friday, September 11, 2015 at Grapevine Baptist Church. Reverends Danny Jenkins, Lonny and Jason Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rice Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday, September 10, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
