Calvin Rice, 75, passed away on June 5, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 15, 1950 to the late Mack and Nita Bishop Rice.

Calvin worked at SquareD for 35 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping with family.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Sondra Louise Rice; brother, Carmon Rice; nephew, Frank Arrington; and several other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30pm Sunday June 8, 2025 at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Reverends Garland Rice and Robert Taffer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Shelton Cemetery, 123 Blankenship Rd, Mars Hill, NC 28754. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at Blue Ridge Funeral Services.

Calvin's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the kind, caring, and knowledgeable staff; nurses Dee Dee and Amy; HHA Cindy for being so kind and caring during her visits; Carrie, MSW for listening and caring. Also, they would like to thank everyone that has called, visited and assisted in any way possible.
