Carl Boyd Shelton, 80, of Buncombe County, passed away September 14, 2026. He was the son of the late Rass and Foie Carver Shelton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by in death by a great granddaughter, Rilyn Tate Fergeson and sisters, Paulette Waldrup and Patricia Dell.

Carl was a God-fearing man, who was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed fishing hunting and preaching God's word.

He is survived by his wife, Shelia Page Shelton; daughters, Terry Roberts (Darrin), Jerry Shelton (Stevie), Chrissy Shelton (Brian) and Cindy Shelton (Allen); brothers, Doyle Shelton (Joanne) and Boyd Metcalf (Eloise); grandchildren, Tiffani Fergeson, Tyler Boone, Karlie Roberts, Elias and Isaiah Brigmon; great grandchildren, Cooper, Colt and Cada Fergeson and Zoie Boone.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service. Boyd Metcalf will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00pm prior to the service.
