Carlie Gunter, 87, of Marshall, NC , passed away Thursday , April 25, 2013. He was a resident of Madison County and son of the late Charlie and Matilda Gosnell Gunter. He is also preceded in death by a sister Dolly Gunter and brothers Enoch, Isaac and Oliver Gunter. He was a member of Dew Drop Church of God and a retired policeman with Marshall Police Dept.

He is survived by his ex-wife Fronia Gunter, daughter: Debra Gunter and husband Elias Solorio Gutierrez of Alexander, and son: Terry Gunter and wife Martha of Hendersonville. Mr. Gunter is also survived by his best friends: O. C. and Carolyn Gunter and several other nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 29, 2013 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. The Rev. Jimmy Dean Hensley will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenelawn Memorial Cemetery, Greeneville, TN. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to a charity of your choice.
