Mrs. Carolyn Elizabeth Ledford Carver, 71, of Mars Hill passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Care Partners Solace Center in Asheville. Carolyn was born on June 1, 1949 to the late Hobert J. and Frances Stevens Ledford in Buncombe County. She was a member of Little Creek Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for several years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Gloria Burrell and Wanda Hoglan; one brother: Ronnie Ledford; sister-in-law: Polly Sue Carver Burrell and brothers-in-law: Kratus Burrell, Ralph William Carver, Jr., JR Metcalf, and Roger Hoglan.

Carolyn's survivors include her loving husband: Dennis Carver; one daughter: Angie Davis Tipton; one son: Scott Carver (Dawn); one sister: Barbara Metcalf; sisters-in-law: Ann Ledford, Emma Lou Carver, Ruby Hensley, and Lilly Mae Proffitt (Larry); one brother: Michael "Ricky" Ledford (Debbie); brothers-in-law: Charlie Carver (Sherry) and Jerry Burrell: grandchildren, Jordan Tipton, Catlin Carver, Lindsey Tipton, Jacob and Hunter Carver, and several nieces and nephews. Carolyn was loved by many special friends and sister at heart Nancy Mathis (Roger).

A funeral service will be at 3:00pm on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service, with Reverend Nelson Ponder officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Carver family will receive friends from 1:00pm-3:00pm prior to the service.
