Carrie Joyce Rice Moore,99 years young of Marshall passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Elderberry Health Care Center. She was born April 14, 1916 in Madison County to the late William Romelus and Allie Messer Rice. She was a member of Bull Creek Baptist Church . In addition to her parents, Carrie was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Sammy Moore; son, Roger Moore; brothers, Alfonzo, Karo and Wade Rice; sisters, Bonnie Barker, Mildred Maxwell, Clara Penley, Evelyn Hollifield and Lovinia Moore.
Surviving are her son; Gordon Moore ( Betty Ann) of Marshall; grandchildren, Rhonda Merrill (Eric), Ann Moore, Sam Moore (Kelli), John Moore (Sarah), Sonya DeBruhl (Mark), Shelley Buckner (Brian); great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Maddie and Molly Moore, Bailey Merrill, Micah, Tyler and Caleb DeBruhl, Isaac, Leah and Alex Buckner; special great-granddaughter, Sarah Caldwell; daughter-in-law, Drusilla Moore and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, at Bull Creek Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverends Brian Buckner, Sibbald Lambert, Wesley Pike and Bill Jones. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday 6-8 pm in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
