Carroll Evan Wilson, Sr., age 78, passed away after an extended illness where he went from a worn out body into a new heavenly body, on November 12, 2023. He was born December 23, 1944 in Madison County to the late Robert Oss and Pansy Hensley Wilson.

Carroll was a hard worker and was always helping the community. He loved his family and was a friend to everyone he ever met.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Evan Wilson; granddaughter, Tera Wilson; sister, Loraine Edwards; and brother-in-law, Kermit Ponder.

Carroll is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kate Wilson; daughter, Selina Proffit and special son-i-law, Steve; grandchildren, Jesse English (Amanda, Jared English (Jessica), Samantha Long, Kendall Willson, and Shonna Blackwell (Jesse); brothers, Larry "Mike" Wilson (Linda), Darrell Wilson (Vickie), sister, Linda "Sue" Ponder; sister-in-law, Pauline Stuckey (John); Brother-in-law, Larry Edwards; 12 great grandchildren, Shelby, Kolton, Lawson, Eli, Gracie, Rylan, Lucas, Tristan, Makayla, Ava, Braxton, and Bentley; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday November 17, 2023 at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church. Danny Edwards and Bo Burnette will conduct the service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
