Cecil "Bruce" Davis, age 79, passed away peacefully and entered his heavenly home on June 18th, 2019. Bruce was born on July 25, 1939, in Buncombe County North Carolina to the late Thomas Davis and Martha Rice. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, William Davis and sister, Jean Davis Wyatt, as well as his loving four-legged companion, Nosey.

Mr. Davis retired from Lowe's after 22 years of service and started a small family business in Weaverville, Davis and Sons Tires. Bruce enjoyed his retirement at Lake Keowee, where he spent most summers fishing with his loving wife of 62 years, Alene Pickren Davis. He could often be found on the lake spending time with his family and teaching his grandchildren how to fish. He and Alene enjoyed fish fries with the catch of the day. Most days at home were spent relaxing on his front porch.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Bobby Davis, of Weaverville, and Tommy Davis and wife Tyleia of Weaverville; brother, Thomas Davis Jr. and sister, Joyce Davis King; five grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, June 24, 2019 at Mount Bethel Freewill Baptist Church with Reverends Roy McPeters, Mike Thomas and Arnold Potter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Robert, TJ and Shannon Davis, Mike King, Gary Fox and Bobby Honeycutt. The family will receive friends 11:30 to 1:00 at the church prior to the service.

At other times the family will be at the home of Alene Davis, 2 Tommie Lane, Weaverville, NC 28787.

The family would like to thank the staff of John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center for their loving and compassionate care of both Bruce and family in their time of need.
