Champ Rice, Jr. age 70 of Mars Hill passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. He is the son of the late Rev. Champ Rice, Sr. and Sophia Norton Rice. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Reva Allison and brother Donald Rice. Mr. Rice is a US Army Veteran, Airborne Division.

He is survived by a daughter, Debora Doyle; sons, Wesley Rice and Tony Rice (Catherine); sisters, Clara Ball and Evelyn Meadows; brothers, Jeter and Jack Rice; grandchildren, Talon, Kayden, Anthony and Harper Rice, and great grandchildren, Aiden and Blake Rice.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends David Watson and Eric Young will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held.
