Charlie Crafton Narron Jr., 91, of Mars Hill, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025. He was a native of Nash County, NC and the son of the late Charlie C. Narron Sr. and Betty Joyner Narron. In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Perkins.

Charlie attended school in Nash County and graduated from Oak Ridge Military Academy. He then joined the US Army where he worked with the US Signal Corp. After he was discharged from the military, he graduated from East Carolina University on the GI Bill. Charlie and his family moved to Mississippi, where he taught at Ittabena Community College and Mississippi State University, while studying for his PhD. He retired from Mars Hill College as a professor in Economics Business Administration after 40 years. Charlie was also a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Skinner Narron; daughters, Vickie Warren (David) and Cynthia Ireland (Scott); grandchildren, Carey Pace, Dana Smith, Jim Beaver, Justin McGuinn, Sarah Ingle, Kristin Hickey, and Ethan Warren; 14 great grandchildren; and favorite furry companion, Buster the Shih Tzu.

A funeral service will be held at 12pm Monday, May 19, 2025, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Jody Griffin and Rev. Dr. Tommy Justus will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.

A burial will be held at 2pm Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Mill Branch Cemetery, Rocky Mount, NC.
