Clarence Roberts, 85, of Lewis Hollow Drive, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 25, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of Madison County and the son of the late Elbert and Dovie Fender Roberts. Mr. Roberts retired from Paving Enterprises as a roller-man and paving operator and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Erna Lewis Roberts; sisters, Arlene Honeycutt, Ruby Shelton, Nell Shelton and Mafrey Roberts; brothers, James, Bobby and Glen Roberts.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Roberts Cook (David); granddaughter, Carolyn Hunter (Dakota); great grandson and favorite person, Callen Hunter; sisters, Cathy Lawson (Ray), Wanda Capraro (Paul), and Marylee Bumgardner (James); several nieces and nephews; and two special nephews that are like his sons, Rusty Roberts (Katrina) and Larry Roberts (Angie Forbes).
A funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Douglas Cook and Eddie Rice will officiate. Burial will follow in Laurelton Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11am-1pm prior to the service.
