Mr. Clifton Craig Peek, 86, of Marshall, NC went home to be with the Lord on September 16, 2022, at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Clifton was the son of the late John Baird and Ruth Keith Peek. Clifton was also preceded in death by a son: Dennis Peek; two sisters: Elva Robinson and Hazel Proffitt; one brother: J.C. Peek; and two infant siblings. Clifton was a heavy equipment operator for the North Carolina Department of Transportation where he was employed for 36 years. In his retirement he loved operating his portable sawmill and spending as much time in the outdoors as possible. He attended Arrington Branch Baptist Church. He was always smiling, ready to lend a helping hand when needed. Clifton was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend and his pride and joy were his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Clifton is survived by his loving wife of 64 years: Effie Norton Peek; one daughter: Sandra Brigman and husband John; one son: Chris Peek and wife Myra; four grandchildren: Lauren Ramsey and husband Billy, Blake Brigman and wife Maddie, Jill Tate and husband John, and Kelsey Brigman; and seven great grandchildren: Rayden, Brody, Connor, Braxton, Lanie, Cooper, and Chance.

A funeral service will be held in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 2:00pm with the Reverends Steve Honeycutt and Phillip Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Peek Cemetery off East Fork Road. The Peek family will receive friends from 12:30pm until 2:00pn prior to the service at the funeral home.
