Curtis Herbert Beck age 84 of Southgate, Michigan passed away January 2, 2013. He was born December 5, 1928 in Marshall, North Carolina. For over 40 years he was employed with J & L Steel, formerly McLouth Steel in Detriot. He enjoyed woodworking, following and watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Blue Grass Music and gardening in North Carolina. He is survived by his daughter, Vicky (Martin) Ruthkosky, grandchildren Wesley J. (Shannon) Beck, Daniel Martin (Laura) and Samantha Kay Ruthkosky and great grandchildren, Evan and Sydney Beck, Declan Crawlely-Ruthkosky and his sister, Alma Briggs. He is predeceased by his wife, Levonda, (3-12-2002) son Jeffrey (surviving wife Joyce) and his parents Millard & Esther (nee Nelson). Visitation Saturday, 1 - 9 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd., Utica, Michigan. Visitation Monday, January 7, 2013, 2:30 - 8 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral service, 7626 Hwy 213, Mars Hill, North Carolina. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
