Dale Silver, 75, of Marshall, died on Friday, November 30, 2012 at the JFK Solace Center.
A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late John J. and Emma Edwards Silver. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Judy Hall, and a brother, Jimmy Silver.
Mr. Silver was a 1957 graduate of Owen High School and a veteran of the US Air Force. He retired from BASF in 1993 and was an expert carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Pansy Worley Silver; sister, Barbara Stewart of Greensboro; and brother, Troy Silver of Old Fort.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 on Sunday, December 2 in the Robbie Capps Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3 at Flat Creek Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Rev. Brian Hanrahan and Rev. Danny Little will officiate. Serving as pall bearers are Michael, Lyndon, Jeff, Scott, and Richard Worley, and Kirk Silver. Honorary pall bearers are David Davis, Geames Rice, Tony Worley and Lee Pack. Interment will follow in the Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Flat Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 21 Flat Creek Church Road, Weaverville, NC 28787.
