Daniel King Burry, 75, of Mars Hill, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. He was born on September 16, 1949, and was the son of the late Odus Dalton and Ruby Bridwell Burry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Irene Burry; brothers, Odus Lee, and John Hamilton Burry; nephew, Wade Hampton Burry; and sisters-in-law, Linda Ponder and Karen Heatherly.

Danny is survived by his wife, Cathy Devone Ponder Burry; daughter, Jessica Daniella Burry; son, Daniel Nathan Burry; sister, Eula Nesbitt (Jimmy); brothers-in-law, James Ponder and Dennis Heatherly; nieces, Christy Roberts, and Elizabeth Lowry (Mike); and nephews, Ernest Ek (Sally), Stuart Ek (Frances), Jimmy Ponder (Natalie) and Brad Nesbitt (Terri).

Danny was a veteran of the US Army. He loved hunting and fishing. He was a dedicated and hard worker retiring from Micro Switch after 32 years of service.

In remembrance of Danny, the family will have a gathering of friends and family Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, Mars Hill.
