Darline Harwood, 92, of Barnardsville, went to be with her Lord on March 10, 2026. She was born on August 7, 1933 to the late, Fred and Eva Banks Harwood in Buncombe County, where she lived all of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Harwood; sons, Carl Z., David Lee, Arnold Gene, Terry Michael and Jerry Dean Harwood; and 11 siblings.

Darline was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved caring for her dogs, working in her garden and sewing.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Shirley Hensley (Don); son, Perry Harwood (Deborah); brother, Harold Harwood; 11 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held on Sunday March 15, 2026 at 3:00 pm in the Harwood Family Cemetery, Rocky Lane, in Barnardsville, with Reverend Robert Reynolds and nephew Buddy Harwood officiating.

Visitation will be held on Sunday March 15, 2026 from 1:30 - 2:30 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service in Mars Hill.
