David "Cowboy" Charles Coates, 57, of 124 Palmer Ford Rd., died June 19, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father Herbert Charles Coates, sister Sharon Taylor and brothers Stevie and Danny Coates. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Coates is survived by his mother Shirley Gregg Coates, daughters Shannon and Rachel Coates, son Herbert Charlie Coates, sister Theresa Revis (Michael), brothers Michael Coates, Ray Coates (Jody), several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, June 22, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service, Mars Hill. The burial will follow in the Sprinkles Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
