David Berkley "Berkie" Fuqua III, 35, departed this life on Saturday, October 8, 2022, following recent health issues and surgery. He was the youngest of four children born to David and Sharon Fuqua of Mebane NC.

He shared the Baptist faith and especially enjoyed history. He enjoyed the Carolina Tarheels Basketball and the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed sharing videos of his smart and adorable children. David attended Appalachian State before transferring to UNC Chapel Hill where he met his wife, Megan. He enjoyed working with electronics and technology.

In addition to his parents, left behind is his wife, the love of his life, Megan. Together they share three treasures: Zachary (Zach), Sophie and Jonathan. He is also survived by his siblings Susanne, Daniel and Stephanie all who loved him deeply and part with great sorrow; mother-in-law: Linda Cruzan (Jim); father-in-law: Tony Sutton (Lisa).

Graveside Service will be Friday, October 14, 2022 at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, West Road, Hot Springs, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 – 2:00pm.
