David Victor Hyatt, 63, passed away on May 27, 2025. He was born on December 17, 1961 in Fort Benning, Georgia. He was a son to the late William David and Katherine Ward Hyatt. Preceding him in death was a sister, Nancy Jean Hyatt; and nephews, Joshua Bradley and Beau Barnes; as well as mother and father-in law, Ruth and Dallas Rice.

David was a kind and loving man who left you laughing. Sometimes his jokes were only funny to him. He attended Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a retired machinist.

David is survived by his wife of 31 years, Rebecca Rice Hyatt; siblings, Joyce Elain Hyatt, Katherine Ann Hyatt McCue (John), Dennis Alan Hyatt (Margaret), and Susan Lynne Hyatt (John McEvoy); many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Sheila Stamey Franklin and Rachel Louise Rice; brother-in-law, Felix Ivan Rice; and good friend Ann Cook of Inman, SC.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, June 1, 2025, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Phillip Parker will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
