Dollie Myrtle Ponder English, 94, of 264 Dillingham Rd., passed away Monday, November 28, 2011. She was born in Yancey County September 4, 1917 to the late Lewis and Annie Holcombe Ponder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Troy English, daughter, Nadine Shelton, brothers, Willy Jay, Raleigh, Raymond and L E Ponder and sister Ruby Crowder. Surviving are her daughters; Linda Rice and husband Johnny and Carolyn English, son, Rev. Charles English and wife Sadie, sister, Annie Mae Fox, 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at2:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2011 in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Revs Clyde Thomason and Bud Marlor will officiate. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm prior to the service.
