Dolphus "Lynn" Tipton, age 71, passed away on July 13, 2024 at Mission Hospital. Born on June 14, 1953 in Unicoi, TN, he was a son of Sam and Princy Tilson Tipton.

Lynn was a member of Forks of Ivy Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing the guitar and loved tractors.

Lynn was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Albert, Gene, and Dale Tipton.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dani Tipton; his children, Shelley Kerr (Gary), Jason Edmonds (Nina), Rachel Howell, Deidra Metcalf (Kenny), Meghan Justice (Matt); two sisters, Phyllis Brackins and Hazel Lloyd; a brother, Jim Tipton (Aileen); and eight grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday July 19, 2024, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverends Greg Hollifield and Joel Burton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
