Donald James Hyder, age 83, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Madison Health and Rehabilitation. He was the son of the late William and Arrie Holcombe Hyder. He is survived by his longtime companion, Beverly Jarvis; son, Michael Hyder (Debbie) of Marietta, GA; a daughter, Jewel Foster of Weaverville; and grandchildren, Drew, Zack, Matthew and Mitchell. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 31, at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Reverends Charles Shelton and Steve Ackerman officiating. Burial will follow at Longs Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends one prior to the service.
