IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doris
Edwards
October 17, 1939 – November 9, 2025
Doris Wilson Edwards 86, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 9, 2025. She was born on October 17, 1939, in Yancey County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Gus and Althea Pate Wilson.
Doris was a devoted member of the Little Ivy Baptist Church and retired from Micro Switch after many years of dedicated service. She found joy in gardening, canning, sewing, reading and most of all, caring for her family. Doris will be remembered for her unwavering faith in Christ. Many have shared fond memories of seeing her each morning in her rocking chair, reading her bible and beginning her day in prayer. She was truly a prayer warrior whose faith inspired those around her.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie James Edwards; her twin sister, Georgia English; and sisters Agnes Chandler and Mary Ferguson; as well as four brothers, Hubert, Garrett, Wayne and Wade Wilson.
She is survived by her son, Randy Edwards (Selena) of Mars Hill; granddaughter, Brandi Edwards of Mars Hill; brother, Rotha Wilson of Mars Hill; and many nieces and nephews that will miss her dearly.
Though Doris will be deeply missed, her family and friends are comforted knowing she is now rejoicing in heaven.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassionate Care of Western North Carolina, located in Burnsville, for their wonderful and loving care of Doris.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Little Ivy Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Jody Griffin officiating. All who knew and loved Doris are invited to join in honoring her memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Compassionate Care of Western North Carolina in Doris's memory.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.blueridgefuneralservice.org.
