Obituary

Doris Tipton Honeycutt, "Mamaw", 86, of 32 Flat Creek School Road, Weaverville, passed away, Thursday, October 5, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Elizabeth McIntosh Tipton and a native of Yancey County, having lived most of her life in Madison County. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clindon Honeycutt, a sisters, Rebecca Dingess; and a brother, James Tipton. Mrs. Honeycutt is survived by her daughter, Renee English Stephens (Scott); granddaughter, Brittani Summey (Adam); great granddaughter, Chloe Summey; sisters, Ann Howard and Juanita Caldwell (Roger) and Betty Lanning; brothers, Harold Tipton (Dixie), Junior Tipton (Paula), Charles Tipton (Rachel) and a brother-in-law, Roger Dingess; and lifelong friends, Virginia and Lucille. A funeral service will be held at 3:30pm Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Cline Junior Hensley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Upper Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Blue Ridge Funeral Service, PO Box 27, Mars Hill, NC 28754, to help the family with final expenses.
