Dorothy Mae Lamb Rice, 82, of Barnardsville, passed away February 22, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Glen and Pauline Biddix Lamb. Dorothy was an avid gardener and loved canning. She loved her Lord and was a member of the Pisgah Forest Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Garland Rice; sisters, Shirley Faye Wills and Judy Lynn Villa; brothers, Glen Edward Lamb, Ralph Donald Lamb, George "Sam" Lamb and Billy Ray Lamb, Sr.

She is survived by a sister, Betty Walker (Mike Owens), special niece, Susan Rice (Truman); special friends and neighbors, Mary Beth, Herb and Dayton and several other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, February 28, 2026 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverends Dean Metcalf and Larry Coates will officiate. The burial will follow in the West Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
