Douglas Woodrow Anders, age 76, of Barnardsville, entered his heavenly home on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

Douglas was born December 7, 1946, in Buncombe County to the late JD and Ethel Atkins Anders. He was a US Navy Veteran CWO retired, serving during Vietnam, Kuwait, Desert Storm and Iraq. Douglas was a faithful member of Faith Independent Church. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Brenda Kay Anders who passed away in 2010.

He is survived by his sons: Leonard Anders (Dena), Lloyd Anders and Lenny Anders; sister, Patsy G Robinson; brother, Ray Anders (Sherry); three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His faithful shih tzu, Tank.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 20, 2023 at Faith Independent Baptist Church Reverend Robert Reynolds of Faith Independent will be officiating. Burial will follow at Rice Family Cemetery,

Whittemore Branch Rd., Barnardsville with Military Honors. The family receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
