Doyle Willard Ammons, 73, of Mars Hill, passed away September 23, 2021. He was the son of the late James Willard and Frances "Wilma" Metcalf Ammons.

Doyle was a wonderful husband, loving father, and an amazing grandfather with a great sense of humor. He was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to education and helping children. Doyle was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church and a member of the French Broad Masonic Lodge, #292 AF/AM.

He is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Paula Metcalf Ammons; sons, Dennis Ammons (Memory), Chris Ammons (Brandy) and Jonathan Ammons (Becky); grandchildren, Carrie, Dalton, Joseph, Bryce, Aydan, Jackson and Rylie Ammons, Samantha and Abby Crowder.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.

The family is requesting donations be made in Doyle's name, to The Lord's Harvest, 911 Bailey Street, Mars Hill, NC 28754, to assist in caring for hungry children.
