Earl James Arrington, 81, of Weaverville, went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, April 30, 2026. He was a native of Madison County, having lived most of his life in Buncombe County. Earl was the son of the late Cleophas and Dallie Willis Arrington. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Buckner Arrington, grandson, Chris Chandler, and sisters, Myrtle Metcalf, Ruby Willis, and Rita Smith.
Earl concluded his career at Crown, Cork & Seal. He actively attended Flat Creek Baptist Church. Earl enjoyed cabinetry, antiquing, and tending to his garden. He generously gave his produce to friends and neighbors. Earl often visited the shut-ins in his community. He had a true servant's heart. Earl dedicated many years of service to teaching the youth boy's Sunday school class and He supported his daughter as a softball coach and encouraged her through all her sporting activities throughout her childhood.
Earl is survived by his daughter, Pamela Chandler (Warren); grandchildren, Noah Chandler (Katie), Hannah Chambers (Schan), Ayden Chandler, and Ezekiel and Jude Chandler; brothers-in-law, Howell Smith, Weldon Reavis, and Orben Smith; a special girlfriend of many years, Audrey Hilemon; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12pm Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Flat Creek Baptist Church. Reverends Brian Hanrahan, Ben Whitmire, Walter Ponder will officiate. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Steve Norton, Desmond Jamerson, John Lutz, Corey Edmonds, Mark Reavis, and Chris Pack will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Four Seasons Palliative & Hospice Care for the compassionate support provided, and to Donna Cashion for the devoted and loving care she offered Earl throughout his illness during the last few months of his life.
