Eddie McLean Bowens, 66, of Mars Hill went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2022. Eddie was the son of the late Howard Mars and Macie Boings and is preceded in death by his sisters Elaine Wyatt and Shirley Mace. Eddie was the owner and operator of Bowens Towing for many years. He enjoyed working and spending time with his kids and grandkids. Eddie attended Arrington Branch Baptist Church.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife Gail Worley Bowens, his daughter: Teresa Bowens (Conley); son: Bruce Bowens (Christy); sisters: Joann Hensley, Howardette Mars, Wilma Lamb, and Katherine Bullman; his grandchildren: Trever Bowens, Haley Penland (Landon), Austin Bowens (Carrie), Hunter Penland, and Emmalynn Bowens; great grandchildren: Hadley and Ryder; as well as Joyce Angel, Judy Chandley, Linda Worley, and Leslie Bowens who he considered his siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 28, 2022 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service. Reverends Larry Moore and Robert Bradley Jr. will officiate.
