Eddie Dockery, 82, of 24 Ford Valley Rd., passed away April 23, 2014 at his residence. He was the son of the late Ollie Ballard Dockery. Mr. Dockery was a Veteran of The United States Marine Corp. He was retired from Dave Steel and had been attending North Asheville Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Floyd Dockery, Harley "Cricket" Dockery and sister Lottie Dockery. Mr. Dockery is survived by his wife, Helen Louise Burris Dockery; daughter, Debbie L. Shuler; sons, Terry Lee Allen, Keith Allen (Teresa), Mark Wayne Dockery (Rebecca Bailey) and Michael Aaron Dockery (Krista); eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11:00am Saturday, April 26, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Jim Dykes and Dean Huggins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Laurel Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Friday, April 25 at Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
