IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eddie Dewayne
Fender
November 27, 1964 – January 8, 2022
Eddie Dewayne Fender, 57, devoted husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2022, in the peace of his own home surrounded by his girls.
Dewayne was married to the love of his life, Kelly Blevins Fender of 35 years. He is survived by his wife, daughters: Monica Ingram (John) and Madison Roberson (Tyler); grandchildren: Nathan, Sydney, J.D., Miley, Makinley, Jakeb, and Maggie; his parents: Jock and Linda Fender; brothers: Doug Fender (Sandy), Donald Fender (Jennifer), and Darian (Shannon), as well as his large extended family and fire service brotherhood.
He proudly served the city of Asheville as a firefighter, engineer, and fire investigator for 28 years. He loved being a firefighter, always thought of his fellow firefighters as his second family, and his station as his home away from home. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for bowhunting and looked forward to his Illinois trip every year.
Above all else, he lived for his family. He enjoyed sharing his passion for the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. He cherished nothing more than being surrounded by his loved ones.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 13th, 2022, at Trinity Baptist Church at 1:00pm with Pastor Jerry Jamerson, Captain Scott Mullins, and Chief Scott Burnette officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Union Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 1:30pm-5:30pm at Trinity Baptist Church. The Fender family respectfully request that you wear a mask upon entering the church and encourage social distancing to try and keep everyone safe during these times.
