Obituary
Eddie Bert Foxx, of Asheville, passed away peacefully when he went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2024, after an extended illness. He was surrounded by a loving family and Christian caregivers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George L. Fox and Dorothy Chandler Foxx, and a son, Gregory Allen Foxx. He is also preceded in death by his favorite fur-baby Chihuahua, Fluffy, who will be buried along with him.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Foxx, of 33 years; 2 sons, Craig (Tammy) Foxx, Patrick (Janice) Foxx; 3 stepchildren: Lee Braswell, Leita (Gary) Cash, and Delta Walsh. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Lois Griffin, Elaine (Bobby) Cooper, and two brothers: Roger (Margaret) Fox, and Jeffrey (Rhonda) Fox. He had 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Eddie retired from Ball-Incon Glass Corporation in 1996. After retirement he furthered his education and graduated from Greenwood Technical College with an honorary degree in HVAC. He had a special love for agriculture and farming in the spring he always talked about loving the "smell of the fresh ground dirt of the earth." He and his family raised large plots of tobacco, tomatoes, and other crops. Eddie enjoyed art, music, flying and building car engines with his sons and grandsons. He also enjoyed hunting and camping outdoors. Fishing was his favorite hobby and past time. He was a member of Victory Fellowship Worship Center, 450 Aiken Road, Weaverville, N.C.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service in Mars Hill on May 18, 2024, at which time he will join Gregory Allen in heaven on his birthday. Pastor Sonia Burleson will be officiating. The family will receive friends at 1-2 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Foxx, Cole Foxx, Robbie McConnell, Richard Walsh, William Walsh, and Roy King-Walsh.
Burial will follow at the Gabriel's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Mars Hill, North Carolina.
