Edith Norton Carver, 81, of the Grapevine Community, went home to be with the Lord on October 2, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband: Landon Carmel Carver; parents: Pauline and Henry Norton; and her siblings: Euelene Shelton, Ollie Boone, and Gaston (Buck) Norton.

Edith is survived by her son: Michael Craig Carver; daughter: Tira Metcalf (Travis); grandchildren: Kenny Metcalf (Jessica), Brittnay Stanton (David), Christopher Metcalf; great-grandchildren: Hunner and Kenzie Metcalf, Landon Tripp Stanton; brothers: Barnum Norton (Peggy), Randy Norton (Debbie); sister: Wanda Maltry (Danny); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Edith was an amazing, caring, loving woman who went above and beyond to take care of everyone around her. An amazing cook, you never left her home hungry. Her love for the Lord was inspirational for all that knew her. She will be greatly missed by family, friends, and the community.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 6, 2022, in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Wayne Rice and Wade Rice will officiate the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel. A burial will follow the service in Clark Cemetery of Marshall.
