Edna Jerlene Shook Lewis, 83, of Hampton Drive, passed away, Thursday, July 9, 2020. She is the daughter of the late Pender "Ova" Vernon Shook Sr. and Carrie Belle Anders Shook. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jeter Lewis and brother Pender Vernon Shook, Jr.

She is survived by her sisters, Betty Shook (Gerald Bastarache) of Weaverville, NC, Mary Belle Mace (Monroe Mace) of Marshall, NC, brother, James Dearl, "J.D" Shook (Marie) of Rutherfordton, NC; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews; sisters in law, Jeanette Shook and Janie Tweed.

She was a loving wife to her one true love, Jeter Lewis. She stepped in as a role model and mother to Betty after their mother passed and was always a loving, caring sister and aunt.

The family will hold a private graveside service.
