Edward George Altland, II, age 79, of Weaverville, passed away Friday June 23, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 9, 1943, in South Carolina to the late Edward George and Gladys Kauffman Altland.

Edward was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-great grandfather, that will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Marilyn Moody Altland; daughter, Christy Hensley (Randy); son, Brent Altland (Melanie); grandchildren, Brittany Silvers (Travis), Amanda Hensley, Molly Altland, BJ Fisher, Cole Fisher, and Kayla Fisher; great grandchild, Braelynn.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday June 27, 2023, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Dr. Stan Welch will officiate. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Laurie at Four Seasons Hospice for the special care she gave to Edward.
