Elezene Lois Ballard Brown, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Lattie and Margaret Shepherd Ballard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fairl Brown, and her brother, Bill Ballard.

Elezene was a loving homemaker and a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church, where she enjoyed being a part of her Sunday school class, "The Ladies Friendship Class".

She is survived by her children, Steve (Jeanna) Brown and Kathy Brown; her grandchildren, Paul and Emma Brown, who gave her the name, "Mamoo" that she cherished deeply; her siblings, Jean Robinson, Mildred Ray, and Gus Ballard.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Locust Grove Baptist Church. Reverend Brent Snyder will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Elezene loved her church, her grandchildren, working in her yard, and making her delicious meatloaf for her family.
