Elma "Pokey" Metcalf Smith, 89, of Weaverville, passed away, October 18, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Hubert and Willie Mae Chambers Metcalf. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Smith, Sr. and daughter, Melba "Dean "Metcalf.

Mrs. Smith is survived by daughters, Sheila Metcalf (Daryl) and Darla Chandler; a son, Bobby Smith (Phyllis); brother, Clarence Metcalf; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Friday, October22, 2021 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Bobby Smith and David Knox will officiate. The burial will follow in the Faith Independent Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
