Elmer Lee Shelton, age 74, of Maney Cove Road passed away Friday morning, October 15, 2021 at Charles George VA Medical Center. He is the son of the late Fred Enloe and Gladys Fender Shelton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Rector Shelton and daughter, Lolita Shelton. Elmer was a US Army Veteran and retired as Inspector with NC Department of Transportation. He is a member of Terry's Fork Baptist Church, serving as a deacon for 40 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Pam Doan (Victor); sons, Joe George (Darlene) and Tim George (Betty); sisters, Annette Ducker, Ethel Goforth (Fred), Felicia Phillips (John) and Freda Roberts (Randy); brothers, Mack Shelton and Chris Shelton (Denise); grandchildren, Keith George (Amy), Tabitha George and Alaina Davis (Buddy); great grandchildren, Abbey, Ava, Hunter and Emma and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Monday, October 18, 2021 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Reverends Randy Sprinkle and Joe George officiating. Burial will follow in the Maney Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3:00 - 5:00PM Sunday, October 17, at the funeral home.
