Eloise Hylemon Rice, age 85, passed away on November 11, 2023. She was born on May 1, 1938, in Yancey County, to the late Joe and Lizzy Robinson Hylemon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Rice; brother, Dale Hylemon; sister, Joanne Rice; and great grandchild, Bentley Council; and brother-in-law, Fred Metcalf.

Eloise is survived by her children, Ronnie (Linda), Brenda (LaMar), and Connie; grandchildren, Christy, Ben, Jessica (Avery), Sylvia (Nathaniel), Jodi (Luke), Andrew (Amber), Philip "Joey", Edwin (Veronica), James, and Karli (Cory); great grandchildren, Laurun (Christian), Reagan, Kadence, Karder, Silas, Eloise "Ellie", and baby boy Rice due January 2024; sisters Lucille Metcalf, and Wanda Willis (VJ).

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday November 15, 2023, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Bryan Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in the Jessie Rice Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday November 14, 2023 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
