Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service received notification of a new address for Erma Irene Burleson Harwood, she is now in Heaven.

Erma was born in Madison County to the late Ernest and Athlene Robinson Burleson. She was married to James "Jimmy" Harwood in 1962, residing in Buncombe County. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by two baby brothers.

Erma was a longtime member and elder of Barnardsville Church of God, where she served as a piano player, children's church teacher, and ladies ministry leader.

Erma is survived by her two sons, Buddy Harwood and Eddie Harwood and their families; a sister, Paulette Davis; and a special daughter and loving caregiver, Genia Peterson.

A graveside service will be held at 10am Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Bradford Cemetery, Mars Hill, NC. Reverend Larry Coates and Brother Eddie Fox will officiate.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Elderberry Healthcare, for the loving care they provided their mother during her stay.
